A new Probate section is now live on the Nevada Self-Help Center, offering public access to probate forms and information.
This new resource is designed to support individuals understanding and navigating the probate process in Nevada. The Probate section includes basic probate forms, including forms for:
- Set Aside
- Special Administrator
- Affidavit of Entitlement
- Four different Ex Parte Petitions
In addition to forms, the site provides guidance on fundamental probate topics, including how to determine if probate is necessary, when a will is considered valid, how to create and submit a will, and the types of probate proceedings recognized under Nevada law.
The site also offers information on related matters such as obtaining medical records, opening a safe deposit box, and requesting an order to allow cremation, including who is legally authorized to make such a request and the steps involved.
Resources are also organized based on estate size. For small estates under $100,000, the site includes information on affidavits of entitlement, direct transfer of property, and petitions to set aside. For larger estates, users will find guidance on the full probate process. There is also information on the role of a Special Administrator and how to petition for that appointment.
