Domestic Violence is one of the most common factors in child abuse and neglect cases in the United States. Seventy percent of domestic violence goes unreported, even though forty percent of child abuse victims report domestic violence in the home.
As a result, the Court Improvement Program (CIP) teamed up with its Mediator Training Center to develop its "Domestic Violence and Child Protection" training course. This 5-hour virtual training touches on a wide range of topics. This training aims to demonstrate successful techniques to identify and facilitate cases involving domestic violence so that all parties are safe and heard during mediation. Additionally, it takes a deep dive into understanding victims, abusers, and the cycle of domestic violence.
CIP highly recommends this training for any individuals in the dependency (or any adjacent field). For individuals seeking Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits, the course was approved for 4.0 general credits and 1.0 credit for ethics. To register, please click here.
